|Stylish 3 year old filly BELLA SUCCESS won her maiden in determined fashion when scoring over 1,200 metres at Newcastle on Saturday at only her second race start. |
The I Am Invincible filly was nicely away from the barriers and jockey Lee Magorrian eased her to settle into a midfield position, one off the fence. At the 600 metres mark, Lee urged the filly forward and the pair began to improve nicely, although widest of all at the home turn. BELLA SUCCESS then sprinted strongly down the outside in the straight where it was thought to be better ground throughout most of the day. The filly fought hard to the line and the photo finish quickly identified BELLA SUCCESS as the race winner much to the excitement of her elated owners in attendance.
BELLA SUCCESS was a 2016 Magic Millions purchase from the draft of Yarraman Stud and is out of the multiple New Zealand Stakes winning mare, Bridie Belle (NZ). This was only the filly's second career start, so it was encouraging to see her dispose of her maiden status quickly.
Congratulations to the winning BELLA SUCCESS owners Francis Kennedy, Barbara Kennedy, Paramount Racing (Manager: Kathryn Wood), Paul Van Buynder, Janys Van Buynder, Ray Aurisch, Helen Aurisch, Mervyn Wood, Margaret Wood, Michelle Cowan, Dianne Handley, Barry Johnston.
