THE AVENGER salutes with in form Kerrin McEvoy aboard

THE AVENGER rewarded his owners' patience with a dominant win over 1,200 metres yesterday at Gosford. The gelding was narrowly beaten at his only two career starts when running second at both Newcastle and Hawkesbury.
The gelding jumped quickly for in form jockey Kerrin McEvoy and travelled one off the fence behind the leading pair in the early stages of the race. Kerrin asked THE AVENGER to quicken before rounding the home turn and the gelding responded well before peeling to the outside of the leaders. He let down strongly to win by 2.2 lengths going away from the field over the concluding stages of the race.
THE AVENGER was an Inglis Easter yearling purchase from the draft of Arrowfield Stud. A son of Smart Missile and out of the American broodmare Certain Promise (a full sister to the Group 1 winner Spanish Moon), the gelding caught the eye of our yearling sales team as a well put together individual with great balance.
Congratulations to the winning THE AVENGER owners Paramount Controls (Manager: Kathryn Wood), Jeremy Tan, Chris Olliver, Ray Aurisch, Helen Aurisch, Derek Robinson, Dianne Handley.
