TWILIGHTER (NZ) relishes the step up in distance and wins

2018-04-24 (Latest News)
Being by dual hemisphere Group 1 winner Reliable Man (GB), 3 year old filly TWILIGHTER (NZ) has inherited not only her dad's striking grey colouring, but also his staying power when she broke through for her first win on Saturday over 2,000 metres. The filly lined up at Kembla Grange with Mitchell Bell aboard and the pair settled towards the rear of the field during the early stages of the race. At the 400 metres mark, TWILIGHTER (NZ) began to improve sharply around the field and was widest of all when straightening. She was very strong through the line, with the most impressive feature of her win, the final 100 metres when she powered to the lead and won in very good style.
TWILIGHTER (NZ) was purchased by Star Thoroughbreds at the 2016 Magic Millions National yearling sale for $55,000 from the draft of Westbury Stud in New Zealand; now home to Chris Waller's 2013 Group 1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes winner, Reliable Man (GB). Our thanks to Steve Brem for recommending the filly to us after he inspected her pre-sale on the Gold Coast.
Congratulations to the winning TWILIGHTER (NZ) owners Alan Richmond, Patricia Sheehan, Jacqueline Sheehan, Owen Gibson, Diane Gibson, Fridays Racing (Manager: Melana Petrack), Gail Robertson, Peter Robertson, Shane Larmour, Jacqueline Coulter, Mandy Gunn, Avala No 2 (Manager: Dusko Vukas), Justin Rimes, Paul Rimes, Blue White Blue (Manager: Tim Kelly).
