|Four year old gelding CORMAC won well yesterday over 2,200 metres at Warwick Farm with Kerrin McEvoy aboard. The pair had already been placed over the trip this preparation at "the farm" so it was pleasing for all involved to cheer them home first past the post this time. |
Kerrin settled the gelding towards the rear of the field for the majority of the race with the leader going fiercely up front. The son of All Too Hard appeared to "switch off" quite well throughout the run, in preparation for a final effort in the home straight. Before rounding the turn, CORMAC began to improve his position and upon straightening, Kerrin ensured that the gelding put his mind on the job as he surged to the lead close to the winning post to win comfortably by over a length in a display that suggested CORMAC may well develop into a handy stayer in time.
Congratulations to the winning CORMAC owners Ray Aurisch, Helen Aurisch, B C R (Manager: Chris Chrystiuk), Michelle Hastings, David Wilson, John Holmes, P & S Glenney & S McKee Racing (Manager: Patti Glenney), Boeara Holdings (Manager: Denise Dunphy), Dianne Handley, Peter Aquino, Michelle Hutchins, Michael Ryan, Hugh Cameron, Peter Roberts, Geoff Paterson, Sasha Pahwa, Lynette Pahwa, Paul Lanham, Rachelle Lanham.
