|VOILA was a 2017 Inglis Easter Star Thoroughbred's yearling purchase from the draft of Riversdale Farm. She is beautifully bred; by the world renowned Choisir and out of the Stakes performed Zabeel mare Milzeel (NZ), a daughter of Champion Older Mare In Australia and New Zealand Miltak. The filly most certainly has the looks to match her star studded pedigree page. |
Yesterday over 1,100 metres at Warwick Farm, VOILA showed that she is a 3 year old filly of considerable promise, winning very comfortably after leading all the way. The race was as straight forward as it looked. From the inside draw VOILA jumped away cleanly from the barrier and the filly showed good pace to join the leaders after a short distance before taking up the running and dictating the speed throughout. She led around the home turn and accelerated nicely close to the line, before coming away from her rivals to win by almost a length and a half.
Hugh Bowman was complimentary about VOILA, her win and her prospects. The filly has a lovely black type pedigree and there is every likelihood that VOILA will easily handle a significant step up in distance in time. Hugh commented post race that clearly it was a strong win with the filly having real upside and in his view it would seem that she can very likely reach black type level races throughout her career.
Congratulations to the winning VOILA owners Chris Olliver, Norman Marks, Lucy Horseman, Margaret Roberts, J and T Racing (Manager: Jason Rose), Boeara Holdings (Manager: Denise Dunphy), Jan Van Buynder, Robert Dare, David Wilson, Paramount Racing (Manager: Kathryn Wood), Mervyn Wood, Dianne Handley.
