A good result at the end of the day 2018-10-15
The patient owners of 3 year old gelding BURBANK needed to wait until the last race on the Kembla Grange program on Saturday over 1,400 metres to get the result they wanted. After jumping sharply from the barrier, BURBANK took up a forward position to settle fourth on the rail until the corner of the home turn, when an opening appeared immediately outside the leader.

Star's mid-week double continues our stellar "purple patch" 2018-10-11
It's said in racing circles that we should all enjoy the good days and success, because the less than great days require any amount of "character building" to get through. Yesterday at Warwick Farm was a terrific day for some of our Star owners with the 2 horses racing that afternoon, both winning.

"Bella" storms to victory in the Blazer Stakes at Flemington 2018-10-08
Our quality in form mare INVINCIBELLA returned to the winner's circle in the 1,400 metres Group 2 Blazer Stakes at Flemington on Saturday after being desperately unlucky at her previous start in the Group 2 Golden Pendant in Sydney. After beginning well INVINCIBELLA quickly got into a lovely rhythm with Hugh Bowman allowing the mare to travel very comfortably several horses off the rail just worse than midfield.

FIESTA wins the Darley Stallions 2018 Princess Series Crown 2018-10-03
Although it was a dramatic finish to the ATC Group 1 Flight Stakes at Royal Randwick on Saturday, our high quality filly FIESTA fought right to the line to run 2nd beaten a nose and in doing so, secured the title of the Darley Stallions 2018 Princess Series winner. It was the third time our Star Thoroughbreds' fillies have won this prestigious award with Danglissa and very recently our top class filly Foxplay also securing the title. FIESTA will now contest the Group 1 Thousand Guineas at Caulfield on 13th October.

NOIRE wins the Group 2 Shannon Stakes at Rosehill Gardens 2018-09-24
In what looked to be a race run in almost a repeat fashion to the Sheraco Stakes at the same track a fortnight ago, Star's classy 5 year old mare NOIRE scored her maiden Stakes win on Saturday when coming from last at the point of the home turn in the Group 2 Shannon Stakes, to overpower the other runners and win in very slashing style.

VOILA leads all the way at Warwick Farm 2018-09-20
STRONG>VOILA was a 2017 Inglis Easter Star Thoroughbred's yearling purchase from the draft of Riversdale Farm. She is beautifully bred; by the world renowned Choisir and out of the Stakes performed Zabeel mare Milzeel (NZ), a daughter of Champion Older Mare In Australia and New Zealand Miltak. The filly most certainly has the looks to match her star studded pedigree page.

Star's Saturday To Remember 2018-09-10
Saturday was a memorable day's racing for many of our Star owners with the purple and white stars figuring prominently all through the afternoon.

Back to back wins for CORMAC  2018-09-06
A fortnight ago CORMAC recorded a strong win at Warwick Farm over 2,200 metres in such a manner that indicated the four year old gelding might very well develop into a more than "handy" stayer. He confirmed that thought yesterday when again pairing up with Kerrin McEvoy to win at the Kensington meeting at Randwick; this time over 2,400 metres.

APERITIF wins first up this preparation at Canterbury Park 2018-08-30
APERITIF started her spring preparation off on a winning note with victory over 1,100 metres at Canterbury Park yesterday. The filly jumped sharply from her good barrier so jockey Jay Ford allowed APERITIF to go forward as she was racing keenly for the first part of the race.

CORMAC and Kerrin McEvoy relish 2,200 metres at Warwick Farm 2018-08-23
Four year old gelding CORMAC won well yesterday over 2,200 metres at Warwick Farm with Kerrin McEvoy aboard. The pair had already been placed over the trip this preparation at "the farm" so it was pleasing for all involved to cheer them home first past the post this time.

FIESTA wins the Group 2 Silver Shadow Stakes 2018-08-20
Winner of the Group 3 Widden Stakes as a 2 year old in the autumn, FIESTA returned to racing at Royal Randwick on Saturday with a brilliant win in the Group 2 Silver Shadow Stakes over 1,200 metres.

A Strike Rate To Dream About 2018-08-02
We knew that it had been a successful racing year just past for Star however when we received advice that Ray and Helen Aurisch were co-recipients of the award for the "Highest Strike Rate Owner at ATC Courses in 2017 / 2018" then we realised it had in fact been a tremendous year. With 165 city runners throughout the year Ray and Helen won 39 metropolitan races at a strike rate of 23.63%. This is a fantastic result by any measure. Amongst their winners this year was the Group 1 Rosehill Guineas winner D'Argento.

TRAFALGAR rewards his patient owners with a very good win 2018-07-26
It was another impressive riding display by young New Zealand apprentice Sam Weatherley on Wednesday at Canterbury Park, when winning over 1,900 metres on 5 year old TRAFALGAR. The gelding returned to racing recently following a long time away from the track and it was an excellent training performance by Chris Waller and his team to have the gelding back in the winner's circle third up over a distance preferred by TRAFALGAR.

Our Group 1 winning mare FOXPLAY  2018-07-13
Quality 4 year old Group 1 winning mare Foxplay has been sold by her original ownership group to the international racing and breeding operation, Yulong Investments.

INHERIT wins on debut at Newcastle 2018-07-09
INHERIT caught many by surprise when winning on debut last Saturday at Newcastle over 1,200 metres with Lee Magorrian in the saddle. The son of Pierro had shown in his trials that he was most likely looking to be a "distance" horse with his racing style more akin to staying races.

ASTERIUS wins in eye catching style at Rosehill Gardens 2018-07-02
We remember the Saturday night session of the 2016 Magic Millions sale very well; the lovely grey Sebring colt was a real eye catcher, but most likely out of our price range. Yearling selector and sale advisor Steve Brem was also a fan of the colt as we had inspected him before he went through the ring 3 or 4 times. By Saturday afternoon we had decided that we definitely wanted the colt even if it meant going way "out of our comfort zone".

A Star Double on Saturday  2018-06-18
Our purple and white stars have been enjoying a great run of success lately and we were delighted to record another two winners on Saturday, on the same day that our champion trainer Chris Waller equalled his record number of metropolitan winners in a season. Chris has now trained 169 Sydney metro winners season to date with 6 weeks still to go until the end of the season...an amazing accomplishment!

That was a good weekend! 2018-06-13
The Star horses were to the fore in Brisbane and Sydney on Saturday with the beautiful 4 year old mare INVINCIBELLA winning the Group 2 Dane Ripper Stakes at Doomben, the final race on the program. Not ten minutes later 4 year old Star mare NOIRE won the last race on the card at Royal Randwick in slashing style, carrying 60.5kgs on a very rain affected track. Both mares are now looking to run in the Group 1 Tatts Tiara back at Doomben in a fortnight.

The Month of May... 2018-06-04
With Emma away for all of May we have been somewhat "slowly away from the barriers" with our reporting on all the monthly activities, not to mention our race wins, throughout this time...so here we go!

SEAWAY (NZ) returns to the winner's circle  2018-05-03
Third time to the races this preparation and it was back to the winner's enclosure for talented 3 year old colt SEAWAY (NZ) with a decisive win at Canterbury Park yesterday afternoon in the Benchmark 76 handicap over 1,550 metres. Tye Angland was in the saddle and rode the colt to perfection allowing SEAWAY (NZ) to settle on the rail slightly worse than midfield.
