Since arriving at Chris’ Gold Coast stable a month ago our 3 year old filly JOLIETTE (NZ) has put her best foot forward in 3 starts and won each in convincing fashion, carrying big weights every time.

Yesterday racing at Ipswich again the daughter of Charm Spirit (IRE) carried 60kgs once more in a 3 year old handicap which saw her jump well from barrier 2 with Micheal Cahill in the saddle. JOLIETTE (NZ) settled 3rd on the fence in the event run over 1,680 metres and with only moderate tempo for the first 1,000 metres of the race, it looked like it would be a sprint home and it was, with the speed increasing sharply at the 500 metres mark. The filly angled across the heels of the leaders at the point of the home turn and once balanced, she overpowered the second favourite to win by a widening margin on the line and record her 3rd straight victory since travelling north. She is relishing life in Queensland and from what we saw yesterday, her winning sequence may not have ended yet.
