Following on from the great success of OLENTIA selling for $2.6 million via the Magic Millions August Virtual Sale yesterday, it was exciting to watch an emerging talent enter the winner’s circle at Canterbury Park today.
Three year old colt ESTREMO debuted a fortnight ago with an eye catching 3rd placing and he improved from that outing to win today over 1,100 metres with Tommy Berry aboard. The son of Extreme Choice jumped cleanly from the barriers and with plenty of speed up front, Tommy settled ESTREMO in the latter half of the field through the early stages. The colt tracked nicely into the straight and bounded down the outside to build through his gears and hit the line strongly for a well deserved win.
Tommy was complimentary of ESTREMO’s efforts today and he looks to be a progressive colt for the future as he continues to hone his craft.
ESTREMO was a 2024 Inglis Easter yearling sale purchase from the draft of Newgate Farm for $230,000. The name is inspired by his sire with ESTREMO being Italian for Extreme.
