CAFE AU LAIT ran a close second at Pakenham over 1,200 metres at the end of February and the stable team elected to back her up over 1,400 metres at the Moonee Valley Race Club meeting held at the same track 8 days later which of course, resulted in her second career win on Friday night. The 3 year old daughter of Alabama Express began sharply and settled third in the run where she travelled comfortably for jockey Jye McNeil. Once balanced in the straight, the filly built momentum in fine style to hit the front and storm home for an impressive win 3 lengths clear of her rivals.

Jye was very complimentary post race and hopefully CAFE AU LAIT will continue to progress through her grades now as her confidence grows.

Congratulations to the winning CAFE AU LAIT owners McLeish Family Racing (Manager: David McLeish), Martin Ive, Rachel Ive, Boeara Holdings (Manager: Denise Dunphy), John Younis, Paul Avery, Estate of the late Greg Dakin, Felgate Holdings (Manager: Paul Felgate), Paramount Racing (Manager: Chris Olliver), Marc Smith, Bangaloe Stud (Manager: Julia Ritchie), Martin Chong, CGO Racing Pty Ltd.
