FLAXLANDS was brilliant when winning first up this preparation at the Gold Coast on Saturday over 1,200 metres. The 3 year old daughter of Wootton Bassett (GB) jumped well and jockey Jaden Lloyd settled her in a midfield position through the middle stages. Approaching the turn for home she began to improve and once in the home straight, FLAXLANDS was able to find clear galloping room down the outside and the filly quickened sharply to win by a convincing 1.3 lengths.
Jaden commented post race that FLAXLANDS “was terrific…she had a lovely cart into the race and there is plenty of improvement to come.”
FLAXLANDS was a 2024 Magic Millions Gold Coast yearling purchase from the draft of Ridgmont Stud. Her name is from the historic and famed fishing venue in Royale Wootten Bassett (Wiltshire, England).
