AFFARI delivered an outstanding performance at Rosehill Gardens yesterday when leading from the outset to secure a dominant victory over 1,200 metres in the $100,000 Super Maiden.

Beginning well, AFFARI showed good early speed to stride forward and take control of the race, settling into a comfortable rhythm in front with James McDonald in the saddle. Approaching the turn, the 3 year old daughter of Home Affairs travelled strongly, built through her gears and let down impressively in the straight to finish off the race in style winning by a convincing 3.5 lengths.

James was full of praise for her performance post-race, describing AFFARI as excellent and highlighting the positive impact of the blinkers following her four second placings in a row this preparation. He was particularly pleased with the way she controlled the race and travelled comfortably throughout, with the gear change bringing out the best in her. It was a terrific win and AFFARI looks to be a filly for the future with plenty of upside.

AFFARI was a 2025 Magic Millions Gold Coast yearling sale purchase from the draft of Queensland breeders Glenlogan Park. The filly is the second winner from three foals to race from Group 2 placed Super Too, a half-sister by Hinchinbrook to stakes winner Super One. She is the 10th winner for Home Affairs this season showcasing that the Champion First Season Sire has started the new season with a bang. Her name translates from “affairs” in Italian.
