ROUSSEAU won at Moonee Valley at the end of November before a stint at Chris’ Rosehill stable for 3 starts. The 4 year old son of So You Think (NZ) travelled south last week and was once again a winner over the Cox Plate distance at Moonee Valley on Saturday – like father, like son.
Jockey Damien Oliver settled the gelding in a midfield position with some cover upon jumping, one off the fence. The tempo of the race slackened dramatically down the back straight so Damien opted to pop out and allow ROUSSEAU to round up the field under his own stream. This move would prove to be a stroke of genius on Damien’s part. ROUSSEAU led into the famous ‘Valley turn and the result was never in doubt in the home straight. He raced clear for a dominant 3.75 length win.
Congratulations to the winning ROUSSEAU owners Boeara Holdings (Manager: Denise Dunphy), Paramount Racing (Manager: Kathryn Wood), Hongwei Chen, Scott Garbett, Fudong Niu, Ray Aurisch, Helen Aurisch, Greg Cabezas, Miranda Foster, Liam Campbell.
