AMATI put the writing on the wall last start when she produced an eye catching effort from back of the field to run home and finish third first up this preparation. There is no doubt that the 4 year old daughter of SEBRING relishes rain affected tracks with all career form featuring on soft or heavy and as a result, connections were content that the heavy 9 track conditions were not going to be a concern ahead of Saturday’s 1,300 metres event at Rosehill Gardens.
AMATI began well from her good draw (barrier 4) and was asked to hold her position along the rail in behind the leaders where she travelled comfortably for jockey Sam Clipperton. He bided his time approaching the turn and was able to take a run along the inside rail in the straight. AMATI worked through her gears to finish off strongly for a well-deserved victory by just on a length. It was the mare’s 3rd career win and if the wet weather continues through the winter, no doubt she will add a few more results to her CV.
Congratulations to the winning AMATI owners Boeara Holdings (Manager: Denise Dunphy), Paramount Racing (Manager: Kathryn Wood), Trent Hibbs, Michael Hibbs, Rebecca Hibbs, Ray Aurisch, Stride Racing (Manager: Paul Burgess), Anne Hickey, Peter Wandl.
