APERITIF resumed with a win on Wednesday at Canterbury Park. The filly began well from the barriers for the 1,200 metres event and jockey James McDonald settled her to get a lovely run just in behind the speed in fourth position where she travelled well through the middle stages of the race. She popped one off the fence at the 700m mark and this set her up perfectly rounding the home turn and into the straight. The three year old daughter of Bernardini enjoyed an uninterrupted run down the centre of the track as she let down nicely to win comfortably by just under a length and a half. It was a good, solid win from APERITIF first up this preparation and it looks as though she may well be in the winner’s circle again throughout this current preparation.

Congratulations to the winning APERITIF Jan Van Buynder, Mervyn Wood, Wayne John, Chris Olliver, David Meldrum, Paramount Racing (Manager: Kathryn Wood), Ray Aurisch, Helen Aurisch, Boeara Holdings (Manager: Denise Dunphy), Amy Vass, Nick Vass Bloodstock (Manager: Nick Vass).
