HOLLYWOOD NORTH broke his maiden on a heavy 10 track at Kembla Grange last Saturday week and he backed up on Anzac Day during the Kensington meeting at Royal Randwick with a confident win on heavy 9 conditions. The gelding began well with Tommy Berry in the saddle and the pair settled in fifth position one off the fence for the 1,550 metres event. Rounding the home bend, Tommy angled HOLLYWOOD NORTH into the middle of the track and the gelding let down strongly with an impressive turn of foot to get an uninterrupted passage all the way to the post for an easy win.
The 3 year old son of Vancouver is obviously a huge fan of these testing tracks and lucky for him, there looks to be more wet weather in store for Sydney over the coming winter months.Congratulations to the winning HOLLYWOOD NORTH owners Francis Kennedy, Paramount Racing (Manager: Kathryn Wood), Boeara Holdings (Manager: Denise Dunphy), McLeish Family Racing (Manager: David McLeish), Chris Olliver, Felgate Holdings (Manager: Paul Felgate), Peter Aukstinaitis.
