As the saying goes “a change is as good as a holiday” and that sentiment is most certainly proving to be the case for SAVEUR following her transfer to the Chris Waller Gold Coast stable. She broke her maiden at her first start in the state a fortnight ago and went back to back when winning at Doomben yesterday stepping up to 1,640 metres.

The 3 year old daughter of Ole Kirk jumped well for jockey Angela Jones and the pair rolled across from barrier 6 as was the plan, finding themselves in front comfortably and uncontested. From there, SAVEUR controlled the race beautifully and Angela increased the speed from the half mile and the chase was on. The filly had an unbeatable lead on the turn and cruised home to score back to back wins. It was a smart ride by Angela who commented post race that the filly “got there easily and had such an easy time…relaxed lovely in front and pretty much pinched the race.”
