VANESSI returned to Eagle Farm on Saturday, producing another strong and determined performance for back to back wins at the track. This time the race was over 1,200 metres with Taylor Marshall aboard.

VANESSI jumped sharply from the barriers and found herself in a more forward position than anticipated, requiring Taylor to revise his riding tactics early. He handled the situation perfectly, settling her into a lovely spot one out and one back, where she travelled comfortably throughout the race.

Turning for home, Taylor peeled VANESSI around her rivals and asked her to let down. She responded well, stretching out strongly and gradually gaining the upper hand late in the race to secure another impressive win.

Taylor described the performance as “a terrific effort”, particularly given the need to change tactics after VANESSI began so quickly.
