After “just missing” at Warwick Farm last time, CADETSHIP won again with a near perfect ride at Rosehill Gardens yesterday from James McDonald. The 4 year old gelding by Merchant Navy has been thereabouts for most of this preparation, so the ride and perfect race placement produced the desired result. The benchmark 72 run over 1,400 metres enabled the 12 runners to settle most likely where their riders had hoped and this seemed precisely the situation with James and CADETSHIP. With the leading pair setting a very good tempo, CADETSHIP settled some lengths off the two and looked to be going well mid race in 4th – 5th position. Improving from just before the home corner they quickly joined in and half way down the straight he looked a likely winner. CADETSHIP accelerated well, took the lead and won in very decent style by three quarters of a length in a strong performance.

Congratulations to the winning CADETSHIP owners Martin Ive, Rachel Ive, Paramount Racing (Manager: Kathryn Wood), Jason Wise, John Manca, McLeish Family Racing (Manager: David McLeish), Adoreme Racing (Manager: Scott Garbett), Simon Bubear, Nick Moss, Brett Pund, Steven Isaacs, Foxton Beach Boys RS (Manager: Barry Murphy), David Cohen, James Hepburn.
