A return to Hawkesbury for her fifth career start enabled 3 year old filly CONCELLO to win at the same track for a second time with Tommy Berry aboard yesterday. The step up to 1,500 metres suited the daughter of current leading second season sire Trapeze Artist ideally and after settling on the rail initially worse than midfield, the pair began to improve before the home turn. Although positioned behind “a wall of horses” at that stage, Tommy was able to find an opening half way down the straight and CONCELLO displayed good determination to forge clear and win in fine style. She is clearly a filly with talent who looks likely to produce her best over middle and longer distances going forward as she matures and develops further.
Congratulations to the winning CONCELLO owners Peter Blunden, CGO Racing, Martin Ive, Rachel Ive, Craig McRae, Holly McGrath, Catherine Remond, Senga Bissett, Chris McSporran, McLeish Family Racing (Manager: David McLeish), Paramount Racing (Manager: Kathryn Wood), Boeara Holdings (Manager: Denise Dunphy), Rebecca Grasso, Scott Maybury.
