CENTRESTONE is a lightly raced 4 year old daughter of Hinchinbrook and in December of 2022 she put together back to back wins before racing first up this preparation at Doomben yesterday.

The mare jumped from barrier 6 and was eased back to settle at the rear of the field, 10 lengths off a very fast speed up front. Jockey Ben Thompson did not panic however and bided his time with the mare travelling comfortably throughout the early stages. Ben elected to cut the corner, taking an inside rails run and CENTRESTONE let down brilliantly to reel in the field and score narrowly. Ben was very complimentary of the mare’s efforts post race, commenting that she is in for a nice preparation.
