Seasoned campaigner GRESHAM travelled north for Magic Millions race day where he ran 4th in the 1,800 metres race after badly missing the start so Chris elected to transfer the gelding to his Gold Coast stable for all or at least part of this preparation. This decision reaped rewards for his owners on Saturday when the 5 year old son of Sebring won by an impressive 3 and a quarter lengths over 1,600 metres at Eagle Farm.

GRESHAM jumped well which allowed him to find a lovely spot in third position on the fence behind the leader. The field went along at a very sedate tempo and the gelding travelled well throughout with jockey Matthew McGillivray aboard. The leader rolled off of the fence on straightening and GRESHAM was able to use the rails run and sprint away inside the 300 metres to win very comfortably. It was an encouraging sign as the gelding has been away from the winners’ circle for quite a long time, but this change of scenery may have been just what he needed to reinvigorate his zest for racing.
