HOLLYWOOD NORTH jumped well from the wide barrier and jockey Lee Magorrian allowed the gelding to drift back in search of cover. He travelled comfortably in the latter part of the field for the 1,500 metres maiden event at Kembla Grange. Approaching the turn, the 3 year old son of Vancouver was afforded a lovely run along the rail to move a couple of pairs closer, tracking into the race with minimal effort. HOLLYWOOD NORTH cruised through his gears upon straightening and won under hands and heels by 2 lengths.
HOLLYWOOD NORTH was a 2020 Magic Millions Gold Coast yearling purchase from the draft of Coolmore Stud. He was given his name because the city of Vancouver is nick-named Hollywood North due to being one of the largest film production centres north of Hollywood.
Congratulations to the winning HOLLYWOOD NORTH owners Francis Kennedy, Paramount Racing (Manager: Kathryn Wood), Boeara Holdings (Manager: Denise Dunphy), McLeish Family Racing (Manager: David McLeish), Chris Olliver, Felgate Holdings (Manager: Paul Felgate), Peter Aukstinaitis.
