Exceed And Excel needs little introduction. The Champion Sire of 2YOs and a global force, in 2024 he retired from stud duties with a remarkable record–over 2600 runners, 1800+ winners, and 219 stakes winners worldwide, including 20 at Group 1 level. Among his Southern Hemisphere stars are Guelph, Bivouac, Microphone, and Cylinder, while his Northern Hemisphere legacy includes Excelebration and Mawj. A son of Danehill, Exceed And Excel has long been a benchmark sire for class and precocity, with progeny prized across Europe, Australia, and Asia.
Tomelilla (NZ), by Tavistock, was a tough and talented race mare who won eight times from 1200m to 1600m, with Group and Listed wins including the G3 Rotorua Stakes and Counties RC Karaka Classic. She is a sister to Viktor Vegas, winner of the G3 Waikato Cup and a consistent stayer with black type success. This is Tomelilla’s fourth foal. Her first to race, Merchant Empire (Merchant Navy), is already a winner. She descends from a black-type-packed female family, including Andrella (a Listed winner by Dehere) and close relations to multiple G1 producers.
