An exciting addition to the Newgate stallion roster, he showed exceptional talent at two, placing third in the Group 2 Silver Slipper on debut.
He returned at three to win the Group 3 Up & Coming Stakes, and finished second in a stirring edition of the Group 1 Golden Rose to Ole Kirk and beating home King’s Legacy. He also placed in Group 2 Hobartville Stakes and the Group 2 Run To The Rose.
Academy Idol is a winning daughter of Made Of Gold, a super producer of 10 foals to run, 8 of which are winners, including Group 3 winner Meryl, Listed placed Miss Idyllic and Listed placed Chosen Idol.
Academy Idol is a full sister to Group 3 winner, Cosmic Strike.
This is an excellent pedigree of proven performers and one of the few yearlings with only two dams on the page at the Inglis Classic Sale, such is the dept of his pedigree.
Riversdale Farm, owned by Nick & Jasmine Hodges, is a boutique farm located 3kms north of Scone in the Hunter Valley of NSW.
Operating for 35 years, the farm has produced Group 1 winners Samadoubt, Behemoth and Nettoyer.
This colt will be raced as a "Pink Bonus" syndicate.
