Tassort’s first crop of 2 year olds have hit the ground running, with his daughter, Manaal, claiming the first Stakes race of the year for the juvenile fillies. He was an exceptional 2-year-old himself, winning the Golden Gift on debut by five lengths and finishing second in the Group 2 Silver Slipper. Due to injury, his career was prematurely cut short on the race track.
Tassort is from one of Australia’s most impressive families. His sire, the phenomenal Brazen Beau, was the first son of I Am Invincible to retire to stud, having won two Group 1 stallion-making contests. Celebrated as the Champion 3-year-old colt of his cohort, Brazen Beau has established himself as a success in the breeding shed as well as on the racetrack, with his progeny winning races across the globe.
Tassort’s dam Essaouira has proven herself to be one of the country’s best broodmares. Her daughter by Medaglia D’Oro was a three-time Champion with three Group One races to her name. Her full-brother, Astern, stands at Darley Australia, having won the Group 1 Golden Rose Stakes. Tassort’s siblings have some of the most impressive resumes around and though his own career was cut short, there is no question that he was an elite racehorse from an elite family.
