There is no doubt that Queensland suits our 4 year old mare SELEQUE as she recorded her 3rd win from 4 starts for the Chris Waller Racing Gold Coast stable when she won over 1,660 metres at Doomben yesterday.
The daughter of Deep Field carried the number 1 saddlecloth so claiming apprentice Kyle Wilson-Taylor was booked for some weight relief. SELEQUE jumped well and settled in third position, one off the fence behind the leading pair. The race panned out perfectly and it was clear at the home turn the race was hers for the taking. She swept to the front with style and came away to score effortlessly by 1.5 lengths.
Yesterday was the mare’s 6th career win and SELEQUE will next target a Stakes race for some coveted black type to add to her CV.
Congratulations to the winning SELEQUE owners Paramount Racing (Manager: Kathyrn Wood), Terri Johnston, Philip Ward, Katherine Ward, Susan Cameron, Margaret Roberts, Ashley Evans, Brent McCann, Leon Mugavin, Lindsay Caminiti, David Gray, Heather Wilson, Ray Aurisch, Helen Aurisch, Boeara Holdings (Manager: Denise Dunphy).
