KALINO recorded his 4th career win on Christmas Eve when taking out the final race on the card at Royal Randwick in eye catching fashion. The gelding was first up this preparation over the 1,200 metres distance with James McDonald aboard.

KALINO jumped well and was always travelling strongly throughout the early stages. Upon turning from home, James brought the son of Pierro to the outside and he let down impressively. KALINO accelerated with purpose, maintaining his determination to the line to win by just over 2 lengths. It was terrific to see the gelding return in such great form, clearly enjoying the firmer surface and his win suggests that he is in for an exciting preparation.
