KARINSKA made her racecourse debut on Friday night off the back of just one educational trial and the daughter of Spirit Of Boom definitely made 2 year old racing enthusiasts take note with a very impressive win over 1,200 metres. She jumped cleanly from barrier 5 and settled in a nice midfield position where she travelled comfortably with some cover on the fence. She cruised into the straight and jockey Zac Lloyd elected to take the riskier rails run where the pair had to wait for an opening. Once the gap appeared late in the straight, KARINSKA showed an electric turn of foot and tenacious spirit to hit the line strongly and win on debut. It was an eye catching win and the future looks bright for this exciting filly heading into the Autumn Carnival.

KARINSKA was a 2024 Magic Millions Gold Coast yearling purchase, alongside Randwick Bloodstock Agency, from the draft of Redbank North. The filly was very well named by her “all ladies” ownership group being out of Sebring mare Show Some Leg…Barbara Karinska was a costume designer who developed the “powder puff” tutu, which allowed ballerinas movement to exhibit their dance steps by “showing some leg”.
