NOBLE CONQUEROR resumed at Royal Randwick on Boxing Day with a strong win in front of a large festive raceday crowd. The son of Churchill (IRE) jumped evenly from barrier seven and settled midfield for the 1,300 metres event one off the fence where he travelled comfortably for apprentice Zac Wadick. Approaching the turn for home, NOBLE CONQUEROR began to sneak into the race and once balanced in the straight, he let down with a sharp turn of foot and a tenacity to win pulling away from his rivals to win by just over half a length.
Zac commented post race that “it was a great return…the race panned out beautifully and he dug deep when required over the latter stages…the gelding is in for a great preparation.”
