Lightly raced 3 year old filly ROSATO joined our recent winner’s roll call yesterday with a win at Doomben over 1,200 metres. The daughter of Rubick jumped away nicely and jockey Jim Byrne settled her in a great spot in 4th position one off the fence, behind the leading pair who were setting only a moderate speed. She travelled well in the mid stages before starting to roll into the race three wide approaching the turn for home. Once balanced up, ROSATO let down nicely and was doing her best work late to overhaul the leader and win by just over half a length. It was another great ride and Jim commented post race that the filly “did everything right and gives the feel that she will appreciate a step up in distance now”.
ROSATO was a 2021 Inglis Classic yearling sale purchase from the draft of Doran Park. Her name is Italian for Rosé wine.
