The Sydney rain and the heavy 9 rated track weren’t going to stop SELEQUE lifting the spirits of her connections on Wednesday afternoon with everyone cheering from home as she won the 1,100 metres Fillies and Mares event at Warwick Farm.

The 3 year old daughter of Deep Field jumped nicely from the barriers and with little speed, jockey Tommy Berry rolled forward to settle just in behind the leader. SELEQUE travelled tractably throughout and turning for home she loomed and gave a good kick to put the race to bed quickly and impressively with a 1 length win.

Tommy was very complimentary of the filly’s efforts post race commenting that “she’s definitely got a bit of class”. It was her third career win to date and SELEQUE will no doubt improve from her first up performance. We are certainly looking forward to the preparation ahead.

Congratulations to the winning SELEQUE owners Paramount Racing (Manager: Kathryn Wood), Terri Johnston, Philip Ward, Katherine Ward, Susan Cameron, Margaret Roberts, Ashley Evans, Brent McCann, Leon Mugavin, Lindsay Caminiti, David Gray, Heather Wilson, Ray Aurisch, Helen Aurisch, Boeara Holdings (Manager: Denise Dunphy).
