Race results ultimately greatly determine the value of mares on sold for breeding purposes and when they have a pedigree like our 5 year old mare CENTRESTONE it becomes a key element to her value at the conclusion of her racing life. After some good performances in Queensland where she had won 4 of 5 starts in that state, including twice at metropolitan level, Chris elected to relocate CENTRESTONE to Rosehill with the view to hopefully winning some races in Sydney.

Yesterday’s win on the Kensington track was the first of those. With Kerrin McEvoy in the saddle, CENTRESTONE settled at the back of the small field and peeled widest of the group at the point of the home corner to power home and overhaul the remainder of the field at the 100 metres mark, winning the 1,400 metres benchmark 72 in determined fashion. “She was able to get into the race under her own steam and she showed a really good turn of foot,” commented Kerrin post race. We look forward to the mare further enhancing her already significant pedigree in coming months.
