ZAKIYYA has returned this preparation in terrific order with her first two starts resulting in 3rd and 2nd placings. She benefitted from a good barrier draw yesterday at Eagle Farm and was back in the winner’s circle with an impressive win.

The 5 year old daughter of Siyouni (FR) settled one off the fence in fifth position for the early part of the 1,400 metres event with Ryan Maloney aboard. He eased the mare out into the three wide line approaching the turn for home and upon straightening, it was clear the race was hers for the taking. ZAKIYYA accelerated in dominant fashion and she won comfortably. It was a masterful ride by Ryan and it looks like the mare is in for a good preparation.
