She has a quality pedigree steeped in black type. By an exciting first season sire in Farnan who was the Champion 2YO and Group 1 Golden Slipper winner, and out of a mare by Fastnet Rock, the damsire of this year’s Golden Slipper Lady Of Camelot. Her dam, Jolie’s Pearl is a full-sister to Group 2 winner and Group 1 Blue Diamond placegetter Formality, who also won a Group 3 at 2.

Farnan is the most exciting of this year’s first season sires. The Champion 2 Year Old of his generation, he won five of his six 2 year old starts, including the Group 1 Golden Slipper, the Group 2 Todman Stakes, the Group 2 Silver Slipper Stakes and the Listed Wyong Magic Millions 2YO Classic (R). A $550,000 yearling, Farnan is by Champion Sire and proven sire-of-sires Not A Single Doubt. His dam, Tallow won the Group 3 Vanity Stakes and is by top broodmare sire Street Cry. She comes from a family full of speed, and also produced Listed winner and Group 2 placegetter Sandbar, the three-quarter brother to Farnan. Farnan has been well supported at stud, with his yearlings selling for up to $1.2 million and heading to some of the best trainers in Australia.
Jolie’s Pearl is a winning daughter of Fastnet Rock. She won at 1,300 metres and 1,400 metres. Fastnet Rock is the broodmare sire of quality Group 1 winners Santa Ana Lane, Warm Heart and Zougotcha, as well as recent Group 1 winners Veight and Lady Of Camelot. She is from a family steeped in black-type, and is a full sister to dual Group 2 winner and Group 1 placegetter Formality, out of dual Singapore Champion Jolie’s Shinju. They count American Group 1 winner Qualify among their relatives.
Run by Rae-Lousie Charlton, Fernrigg Farm is located just outside Muswellbrook in the heart of the Hunter Valley and is a boutique farm specialising in the management and development of young stock and sale preparation for all major Australian Sales.
